Meditation is key to a good energy state. Thought one must know it's not really needed to practice Psionics. One must know in the beginning it might be healthy to practice meditating to gain confidence, awareness, sensing and feeling of energy, but once you've achieved a bond to your body any Psionic practice might be easier. Also if you take a long break and don't get results meditation would help to sense energy again. Monks do long cycles of trancing and because of that they can do incredible feats. It might be healthy to do a short meditation every day once you've got the hang of it because it helps to practice with ease. Yet if you do longer intervals it might be good to practice with shorter first and proceed to longer ones.

I agree with the article that meditation enriches your energy states, but you would need to practice trancing every day to get results. Don't skip practice if you want to get better. Good luck.
