Now, for all of you guys that have forgotten what the objectives on a debate are I'll post them :
* Let others know your ideas and defend your ideas.
* Held and give clear judge elements during the exposure of an idea.
* Excercise communication, listening capacity and active participation.
* Defend your opinions by offering a background.
What does it mean? Even if personal experience is important, you should offer some type of proof, of course in some debates personal experience is much more important than in others.
Also, when you shred an idea give proof to back your claims, to the contrary of what may others think you have to defend your position even if you're claiming God doesn't exist, saying God doesn't exist because I don't think so is the same as saying God exists because I believe in him. None of them are valid reasons.
I want to emphasize Listening and active participation communication, Read thoroughly if you're about to invalidate other argument, and if you do don't base it simply on your believes or don't just say it's not true without backing it, for someone inexperienced it may seem that you won but everyone able to comprehend the text will know better.
Try to see where the other is coming from and to communicate in a friendly manner, this is important, a friendly manner, not acting like your believes are the only truth ones, because they clearly aren't, and you just look arrogant and cocky and people, myself included don't appreciate that. (Being humble will help you more than you possibly could imagine during life, so take my advice).
Lastly, yes, this is specially dedicated to some members, but I hope everyone will listen. I'll be more strict on this board until you all stop killing each other.
