How to cast a shadow with psi, or generate darkness.

First, darkness is not something that can be generated. Generation of something implies the creation of a type of energy (or, more precisely, the conversion of energy of one type to energy of another type). Darkness is not a type of energy, but the absence of a type of energy (light), and therefore cannot be generated.

That said, I suppose it might be possible to make a place seem darker or to create a shadow by using either TPS or making a construct that absorbs visible light. The second option might be very hard, however, because the amount of energy the construct would have to absorb every second is immense, so I suppose using TPS to trick people into thinking there's a shadow might be the more viable option.

A shadow is generated by something moving in front of a light source, making the area below the object dark.  If you can concentrate enough energy to do that, then I suppose it is possible.  I've never heard of it being done before.

[Fujin]

I've done it before, you can try to take away the light from a specific area by intent or add light by taking away dark spots with intent. If you stop focusing the shadow will return to it's former state. Although I don't practice this form of psionics, I can do it fairly well.
