I have a standing theory about energy that I developed when attempting very deep scans and just wondering.  I believe that in order for psi to have an effect on the visible, physical world around us, it must be patterned in specific ways that match up with the alignment of atoms and molecules.  So, when one creates a construct that generates heat, the psi is patterned in a way that gathers heat energy and accumulates it.  When performing PK, your sub-c patterns the energy in a way that causes kinetic energy to be accumulated and move a physical object.  And so on, and so forth.  Energy can affect the physical world around us in many ways, and the key is learning to pattern the energy correctly in order for it to have an effect.  However, these patterns are subconciously stored within us, and are far to complicated to be replicated, say, on paper.  This also leads to a theory about the effectiveness of magick.  Lighting candles and such of different colors begins drawing energy out of your body which is patterned according to what the color represents in your sub-c.  Any chants to a spell may just serve as a guide for your sub-c to begin patterning more and sending the energy on its way. 
tl;dr:  All energy takes effect on the physical world by being patterned in specific ways by one's sub-concious, the patterns effecting the very building blocks of the universe itself; atoms.

Sorry for the double post, but. . . . .
Upon further research and contemplation along with finally breaking down a mental barrier that was preventing me from getting anywhere while attempting PK, I have developed an addendum to my original energy theory.

Energy Conversion

It seems that when psi is patterned in specific ways, it converts into the standard scientific forms of energy, such as heat and kinetic.  Following this theory, technicaly, any energy type could be created from psi, and from what we currently know, Psions can already convert to kinetic, heat, and electromagnetic (including light) energy.  However, since Psi is seemingly a bi-product of expending energy, it has less efficiency when converted to other forms.  So, as an example, Three times the amount of Psi as Kinectic energy must be generated to spin a Pinwheel, as the Psi converts directly into the amount of Kinetic energy needed to spin it.

I have nothing much to contribute but, I must say, every step to more understanding of Psi would eventually lead us to better use and efficiency of Psi.

I do not think there is a specific amount of psi-to-other energy ratio.  However, your theory that psi can be converted to other types of energy is completely acceptable to me, because you can convert types of energy into other types of energy, and since psi is a type of energy, it can be converted.

The reason a specific amount of psi-to-other energy ratio could not happen is because you cannot measure psi, as of today.  You cannot say 10 J of psi, or 30 W of psi, or a cup of psi, etc.  It is subjective to the person.  A cup of psi to you may be a teaspoon to me, vice versa.
