Just thought anyone who didn't know, should know. But I assume you all do already. So what's being done about it now?

Well one of the bots stopped, and another one popped up.
I recommend no one posts in their threads though, they tend to swarm after that.

Unfortunately, those last couple of spammers are actually people who sit down and register accounts.  We have multiple anti-bot features in the registration, as well as a database of over 40,000 known spammers (email accounts, usernames, and ip addresses).  There really isn't a way to block real people who have the intention of spamming from registering.

If you come across spam, just report it (as some of you have done) and we will take care of it.  There will be more thorough anti-bot implementations in SPv2.0, but we can never block all spammers unfortunately.

Report all spam to myself through a private message here and I'll deal with it as soon as I get on.  As Apollo said, we do have a variety of things we do for anti-bot and anti-spam, but there are some that can get through.  So, if you notice spam, PM me with the account name/thread or both and I will take appropriate action.

Actually, if you click "Report to Moderator" in the bottom right of a post, it sends an email and notification to all staff members all the information we require.

I suggest that method of reporting.

Oh, I forgot about that.  Thank you for pointing that out.
