After reading your posts, I feel you are a beginner in psionics? Is that correct?

Maybe you should learn meditation from a teacher? Like a buddhist, or some selfdevelopment teachers. There are many people who teach people these things.

When you say you get tense, is that when you are trying to manipulate energy? Remember, energy cannot be manipulated by the physical body. I think that most beginners have this problem. they try to move energy, instead they move their physical body instead. When your physical body i relaxed, you muscles are relaxed, and it is completely still, that is when you can try energy work. The first thing you can do when you are completely still, is trying to sense. Im sure there are a lot of helpful people here who can guide you more. Use your mind, not your body.

When meditating, sit in a chair. If you are lying down, it is easier to fall asleep. Start by focusing, either on your breath, or on a point in the center of your mind. Don't try to stop the thoughts that arise, because you will only think more. when you notice you are thinking again, go back to the starting point, that is to focus on you breath again, or on the mind. Do this every time you become aware that you are thinking. after a while. the thoughts should start to dissolve, and you become more relaxed. You become the "observer".

I hope I have been of any help, and please give your opinion people, if I have described it in a good way?

I get that sometime too, but you can try to relax and relieve your muscle from getting stress. It tends to be a nuisance to me but I get over it after practice.

Well, one thing that helps me relax during meditation is focusing on ambient nose or listening to calm and smooth instrumental music. Listening and focusing on purely the music helps your mind become less active thus making it easier to relax and not tense up your muscles. Hope that helps  Smiley

One good idea would be to get on somethings that you've been thinking about the most and then quiet those thoughts one by one until they're all gone and your completely relaxed.

Well, I was blessed from a friend with some lectures/astral projection guides.  In these, it sequentially prepared you to be able to astral project.  One of the lectures was on how to clear your mind from distractions.  As stated below:

Imagine, in your mind, a huge chest.  Put whatever details you want on it.  Now, take everything that you are worried about, such as exams, the house payments, the car, your wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend/friends, games, whatever, and put it into that box.  Once you have done this, close the box.  Put a lock on the box, and turn around and walk away from the box.  Keep walking until you no longer feel the presence of the box.  Now, start to meditate.

It's quite nice to do sometimes, but I no longer need to do it.  Try that if it helps.

I think that relaxation comes differently to people depending on their personality.  While someone who has a tendency to worry might find it hard to clear their mind, I find it harder to keep worried and keep track of all the causes of worry..

Some techniques to relax I've heard about is the stairs technique, which you can look up and find, and one where you imagine entering a room inside yourself, and the room disappearing, and the space, disappearing, and you floating in nothingness feeling yourself.  Again, I just relax, so I don't know how they will work for you.
