L
Trying to sleep through a cold rain; the bird headed man yells from within the Black Car. A small whisper falls out of my mouth. Torrentially falling from the sky are the opprobrious thoughts of mine. A disgruntled door shunts me out into the swirling sea within the air. Nearly narcotic vapours crawl through the seams of the ominous Black Car. The frame and figure of that bird headed man are visible, casting his dark form upon the beaded portal within his door. Aqueate beads shiver and smile, dancing upon the window.
With the speed of seasons the chasm through which those vapours shudder widens, a maw into which cascades the contents of those creatures behind my eyes; slithering through the air into the ever opening crack, struck upon the Black Car.
Mists sinuously separate revealing the face of that bird headed man, concealing all else. The avian skull that rests upon his shoulders is of grotesque proportion, carrying that odious ratio of mismatched forms found only in the more ancient of tablatures. Though the initial outline may be more qualitatively of Osiris, the essence of his subtler appearance bears more a thread with Beelzebub. The deepening sockets within that skull bore no eyes, nor any medium for ocular. The slightest movement is to be seen about the cracks lacing throughout the skull, moving with the motion found in breathing, but perhaps closer to a pulsing mound of maggots.
With great promptitude for its chosen moment, the beak quivers opening with the creaking and cracking of a decaying man. The opiate mists suggest that they might conceal him again, but do not. Deep within that pitchly beak, I am surprised to behold a tongue. It lifts into the air, shivering. In the midst of its unsightly movements, a decree is expelled. "L! Falow Hest."
A wave of feeling, nearly as constant as that colour opal, shears the mist and reduces me to groveling at the wheels of his coach. Time ceases.

Wow. You were not kidding, your poems/stories definitely do have a darker hint of grimness.

Little bit gothic, but not to the point where it seems you are mostly depressed and like to cut yourself. But hey, I can't stop another person expressing their thoughts. Go for it.

Your use of that word is a peeve of mine, being an enthusiast of all things goth myself. Gothic literature (Frankenstein, Dracula, The Vampyre), gothic architecture (basilicas and cathedrals), and gothic rock (Bauhaus, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Siouxsie and the Banshees), are three seperate entities. A person is not "gothic." Being depressed does not make one "goth," or "emo." *Restrains self from systematically going through each in detail. Turns on Bauhaus*

I was more talking about what the majority of people in America define as gothic individuals, as in people who like to dress in all black, can contain the characteristic of being overly emotional, who also express themselves through "frowned-upon" acts. I wasn't saying being depressed make you gothic, but being gothic can sometimes mean you are also depressed. However, I am talking to you with the idea that I believe in what most Americans define as gothic. Go to California, to a public high school, and dress in all black. People will then call you "gothic", the term I am referring to. It's more of a slang term in this case, since you are right about the actual definition of "gothic". http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=Dzc&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&q=define%3Agothic&btnG=Search

Meh.
Fashion statement, a rebellion against America and what it considers gothic? Or just simply because Stolide likes to wear black stuff? The world will never know...

Well all black clothing is stereotypical for the "goth," and as such is not much of a rebellion. I just like dark clothing, and colours in general. Give me dark, desaturated colours.

...And now the world knows! Back to topic: I like the way how the skull slopes downward, especially near the oral cavity. Edit Oh...Wrong topic. Um...
What inspired you to think about maggots?

A combination of things. This was written fully while in a trance. Consider who Beelzebub is. What do maggots become? The image in my mind was indeed reminiscint of a mound of maggots. It was a far more odious sight than that of mere respiration.

Ah, I know who Beelzebub is. It makes sense now that I think about it why you would choose it. I think you posted a topic about writing stuff while in a trance at your forum?

I believe that Saile started the topic, but yes. Never mind, but that is the topic to which I am referring to. I tried doing that while writing a poem...I stopped writing poems after the event.

Too random, too weird, and it scared myself on how stupid my thoughts can be I also realized poems weren't my kind of thing; I prefer stories that are plain-out blunt and get straight to the point I am trying to express to the reader.
