Exactly the title of the topic. Is time slower compared to earth time? How long would an hour be there?

This is my first post, so, hi.  Smiley

Welcome to SP. It depends on the perspective of time here on earth and on the astral. I could make it longer in the astral so that I can practice longer or I can make it shorter so that time passes faster.

I never knew that. I just assumed time would be the same in both places. Shocked

Would you just think it to be slower and it would?

It depends on a number of things. Time is a rule in the astral just the same as it is here in the material. However, mentally, time is relative. So whether or not time is the same here and there doesn't really matter if you develop enough mental strength and clarity to control the flow of time while your projecting, so that an hour experienced while projecting is 10 minutes back in your body, or vice versa, or anything else you decide. The same can be done while lucid dreaming, and even while awake--though it's arguably easier in a dream. Grin

However, don't go overboard either. Playing with time can be fun like this, but I personally don't think experiencing days and weeks in a single dream or projection is very healthy. Though, that's something to take up with your psychologist. Tongue

I don't know about the astral, but there has been times where dreams of mine would seem a day long when it was only for an hour. It doesn't do that much damage to me, except that I might forget where I am when I wake up for like a minute. In other words, at least for me the longer you are disassociated from physical reality then the longer it takes to remember where you were at before the dream. However, this is not always true, since I have had short dreams and still forget where I was.

The time could be slower if you wanted it to be.  However, I find that if I spend too long on the astral plane, I have more trouble remembering what happened if it wasn't eventful.  Even though your brain may or may not have much to do with your soul, you're still used to experiencing time at the pace you do in ordinary life.

I've been practicing astral projection more lately and I was wondering if you could actually live in the astral plane?

Some people have had OBE's when they have near death experiences, some don't. Maybe thats where you go when you die.

I don't think you can do it while your alive in the biological sense. Maybe if your in a coma and you go lucid in coma delusions you can break out and live on the astral until you wake up.

I think it would have pros and cons. Like insanity and dissociation from reality would be a con. Would practice of time dilation in dreams to that extent allow for faster thinking processes overall? For example, would you be able to think through problems, ect, noticeably faster when awake?

I believe that if one were to try to live in the astral plane, they would lose their bearings on reality.  In reality, typically you cannot spawn things at will, teleport, fly, etc.  If one were to live in the astral plane for an extended amount of time(say a month), then they would grow accustomed to that type of life.  They would have to completely readjust themselves to the regular world.

That's just my view on things.  It's like an American moving to Mexico or a foreign country with a different culture(s), language(s), and other things.  You would forget about living in the United States if you lived there for long enough.  That's what would happen with the Astral Plane, I think.
