Last week I perfomed a very unsuccessful and half-witted meditation. During this meditation I listened to some binural beats(which I do when I honestly don't feel like doing anything). Eventually I fell asleep with nothing gained at all, I awoken later to a unnaturally loud bang. It sounded as if someone took a pistol beside my ear and pulled the trigger. It was around 4am when it happened, and naturally looked around my room, and I took note that I wasn't in fear when I woke up(Which I find weird, I grew up in Brooklyn and normally a noise like that would put me in "fight or flight" mode.).
Of course, there's always that answer that "maybe something dropped" or something related, and I can assure you nothing of the sort happened. I checked around my room and everything was in place. Since we still have most of our belongings in boxes, there's nothing we have that can make a noise as loud as that in my room. And outside of my room, everything is still--in boxes. Dishes were put away the night before, so no dish fell and all that noise.
Getting more to the point, I went searching for answers and came upon an answer that stuck out to me. Basically I got this from it::When you hear a loud 'POP', or something similar after meditating, you're experiencing your astral body coming back to you instantly. Kind of a weird answer, but I've never Astral Projected--willingly--before, so I wouldn't know.
Any one have a better explanation? Skeptic? I'm open to everything, so please comment.

If it's too late to show the pearl, you will gaze at the clam and ponder it's drabness.

It could have been a bang from a dream. Or maybe there was an actual bang outside of your house. Are you sure you didn't wake up first? It could have been a hypnopompic hallucination.

I'm 100% sure woke up from the bang, and I'm not ruling out that possibility, either;;about the hallucinations.

If it keeps happening all the time then have someone scan your house. While you are at it, have someone also scan your astral body. Then have a recorder near your bed to see if it is actually you are personally experiencing; that is to say, it was not an actual event. Don't get too worried though. Just give it some time and we'll see what's up.

That's the thing, I have no one here with that ability. But I will scan my house out(don't know why I didn't do that in the first place, instead of complaining.), and I'll post what I found out.

Whoever said the person to scan you needs to be in person, ha ha ha. Ask someone who is good at scanning to scan your house for disturbances. I personally don't know anybody in SP that are good at scanning, but maybe psionicsonline or, I regret to say this, psion guild members are good at the skill. I don't believe in attaching your energy sig through text, but if you think it works then there's no problem in trying.

Well, so far I haven't heard any claims from the members that they are good at scanning. It's usually, "Yeah, I'm good at PK and telepathy EXCEPT for scanning". I don't know why, but most psions seem to have a trouble with that skill. I'm not a psion, so I can't offer personal scanning, ha ha ha. It's not that the members here AREN'T trustworthy. It's just that I haven't seen anyone SKILLED in scanning.

I specialize in scanning. Excluding off days, I almost always get something associated with the target. It is not uncommon to be spot on. I fully recommend a few months practicing mostly scanning for people just starting out, by the way. The thing in which I am best is probably scanning, I suppose that would be following meditation. I am inclined to think it to be one of two things, either a hypnogogic hallucination, or you twitched a part of your body that cracks (as knuckles do). My whole neck twitched to one side last night about 50 minutes into a meditation. My neck frequently cracks. Given the adjustment of relative perception of volume, this would make perfect sense. Otherwise, I AP all the time and experience no such thing. EDIT: Here is some proof that I have divined things correctly in the past: http://forums.vsociety.net/index.php?topic=15980.0Specifically "I recognize the two pieces you have there, they're based on 2 pieces of real Omni tech, but you were obviously not taught what they are or how they actually work, or you just didn't understand it." In reference to my attempts at divining the specifics of a secretive paradigm of magick http://teneonon.weebly.com/a-basic-explanation-of-tech.html . I did not obtain one hundred percent accuracy of the corresponding association of the tech pieces (as laid out by Omni anyways), but I did divine them none the less. Not exactly the best proof, but just an onhand recent example that was documented.

Just making sure I'm not losing my wits. And it probably was just a hallucination. I was I could recreate it, so I could know for sure..

Well, you can recreate it but you need to have a lucid dream first OR you must be skilled enough to stay still and to keep your eyes closed immediately after a dream ends. If you are in a lucid dream you can prep yourself to hear a loud bang and even imagine it inside the dream. Then you must end the dream and imagine a loud bang OR you can wait until the dream ends; just when it's about to end you imagine a loud bang. If you can stay still and keep your eyes closed then you should still be pretty relaxed. Just imagine a couple of loud bangs and see what happens. Like I said though, this requires some skill. Practicing awareness at all times should do the trick.
