For as long as I can remember I've had the ability to read people emotions. I can tell almost anything and everything about someone the moment I meet them (whether that be online or day to day life). At first I thought it was normal and everyone could do it. But as I grew older I came to relise that really very few could do it. Infact, no one I knew could.
After finding the old version of this site and reading through it, Every part of me was saying "That is exaclty who I am!". I also read on this site the article directed to empaths, and I could relate to it as much as I'm related to my cousin! (That was a lame joke). (:
It is all very exciting to know that there are others that share the gift and the burden that I do.
So I thought I'd share that with you guys (:

Its true, there are others like you! I remember growing up watching Star Trek Nex Gen, (being pretty young at the time) and being like "Wow, counselor troy is like me." Sucked when it occurred to me that her character was not so much based on anything anyone believed to be true . But on the upshot it wasn't long until I did find others like myself.

I'm not sure if that was suppose to be supportive or merely mocking me... But eh - I suppose I'm used to it Edit: yeah - reading through that again I relise that might not have actually been a mock. Sorry if it wasn't

No, deff not a mock, if it was, it was aimed at myself. Troy was the only empath on tv that I can think of when I was growing up and for some reason I believed that what was being shown on the show was a facet of reality not fiction (her character and ability).

Of course you're not the only empath! It's been a running theory of mine that every single human being in the world is an empath to a point. It's a known fact, for example, that female humans are quite good at subconsciously figuring out other people's emotions by copying their facial expressions and "feeling what they're feeling". And, less scientifically proven but I think it might be true: Psionic empathy is a part of every human to different points. I think we've all heard the stories of normal people (Who are not seemingly empaths.) being able to "feel" if something bad has happened to a person they care about. This made me guess that all humans link empathically to people they communicate with to a certain point, and that this connection is strengthened with strong emotion on either and/or both sides.

I totally agree with you. But - I think the majority of people can only really do it to those who they really care about. But with an empath such as myself, they feel everyone's emotions. And not just by the look on their face

Yah, for some reason this does occur much stronger with some people. I have to some extent also seen where in family lines it runs more true than others also.

Ya I agree sometimes two twins can read each others minds and tell what they are doing at that momement even though they aren't near each other.

thats true, also some families have it passed down through generations, like my great grandma used to know when someone in the family died before she was told about it and other weird things.

Same with my mum. All the mums in my family passed a natural ability to do some low level mind reading. Not hardcore know what you are going to say mind reading, but the kind where you can never lie to us lol Just to clarify, I am not a girl. I mean the women in my family have some natural talent that was passed down, not any of the dads lol. Except my dad in particular who has nothing to do with it, but has some strong natural TPS skills (my mum hypothesized this based off of some behavioral observations.)

I'm an empath too. But I rarely use it intentionally. I've known when people are mad sad or even if they have feelings for a certain person ( they deny it of course ). But I've gotten used to the idea that even if you can do that doesn't mean that you should use it for self advantage. I've also come to the point that I can predict what that person is going to do or say. It gets cooler if I get to bridge other people.
